A system of parks has been developed along the beautiful Oldman River that meanders through the city in a deep, wooded valley.  There are wilderness areas, nature reserves, picnic areas, equestrian facilities and extensive trails for biking and walking.

A year-round destination, the Galt features blockbuster exhibitions, hands-on activities, and programs for the entire family.  The best photo opportunity for the CPR High Level Bridge is at The Galt.


Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens   

                                                                 

Built in 1967 as a centennial project, this authentic Japanese garden is a symbol of the Japanese-Canadian friendship that exists in our community.  The garden is a place of contemplation and peace, where five traditional garden styles are joined by a meandering path.  Japanese cultural events, gardening and pruning activities, varied art exhibits, and cultural vignettes make this an attraction to be visited over and over again.
